IRGC Martyr Gen. Qasim Soleimani posthumously received Syria’s highest military honor, 13 January. Defense Minister General Ali Ayyab presented the Order of Hero of the Syrian Arab Republic medal to Brigadier General Amir Hatemi, at the award ceremony in Tehran.
Few Syrians receive this highest of honor, still, fewer are non-Syrian recipients.
President Bashar al Assad issued the decree on 3 January, to honor Maj. Gen. Soleimani for his precious contribution to defeating the US-sponsored ISIS and other terrorist gangs in Syria.
