2 Civilians Killed and 3 Injured in a Landmine Explosion East of Homs

Landmine explosion - Syria

Two civilians were killed and 3 others injured in an explosion of a landmine planted by ISIS terrorists north of Tadmor – Palmyra, in eastern Homs countryside.

The 5 victims arrived at the Tadmor (Palmyra) National Hospital with multiple injuries and burns, Dr. Walid Audeh, director of the hospital, stated.

Two of the victims couldn’t be saved and lost their lives due to the severe wounds and burns, the other three are under observation and are recovering, Dr. Audeh added.

The landmine exploded in the group in the Jabal Abu Rajmin, about 60 kilometers north of Tadmor (Palmyra), it was planted by the US-sponsored ISIS terrorists when they were in control of the region.

Just two days ago, on the 27th of November, we reported the death of two children by a landmine explosion in Ain Issa, in the northeast of Raqqa province.

Terrorist organizations sponsored by the USA and its NATO minions and regional stooges planted tens of thousands of landmines and IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) of all shapes and sizes all over the places they infested, their aim was to inflict further casualties among the Syrian people returning to their homes and villages long after the terrorists are defeated. This is the same mentality and methods of the US Army it carried out since its bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, its use of the Orange Agent against civilians in Vietnam, and its bombing of Fallujah in Iraq with depleted Uranium.

The Syrian Army’s engineering corps and with the help of friendly countries are working hard to remove the landmines and all sorts of explosions in areas cleaned from US and NATO-sponsored terrorist groups, the task is overwhelming especially without the maps of the landmines and the information about the IEDs planted, which the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) is not helping as needed, despite a signed agreement with the Syrian state in this regard.
