Syrian Head of National Security in Rome

General Ali Mamlouk visited Rome and met top Italian officials in charge of security in the European country.

Lebanese al-Akhbar Newspaper revealed in its latest edition that the Syrian top security adviser had visited the Italian capital and that wasn’t the only meeting between European officials and the Syrian state.

Europeans have done the unimaginable in their quest to effect a ‘Regime Change’ in Syria by cutting all ties with the Syrian government, including the security ties between their security agencies and those of Syria. The EU officials seemed unconcerned with the safety of their own citizens.

During the worse conflicts ever, there will be always open channels between warring parties, usually, it would be through ambassadors, presidential envoys, consuls, and always open channels in the dark world of security agencies. Not when the US and its puppets in France and the UK went crazy enough to severe these ties.

Lebanese al-Akhbar mentions that Italian connections with their Syrian counterparts have started more than 2 years ago when the chief of Italian Security Alberto Manenti visited Damascus after a visit by his Syrian counterpart Mohammad Dib Zaitoun visit to Rome. The exchanged visits were focused on fighting terror.

Italy was the side that initiated the contact, as per the Lebanese daily, and that it informed its EU partners with it and in their turn the EU states insisted any contact of such should exclude any Syrian official on the EU Black List and that any contacts to be held in Beirut, Lebanon through the Lebanese head of general security General Abbas Ibrahim.

2 months ago the contacts were reactivated to discuss mainly fighting terror and the Syrian refugees in Italy files. Damascus, in its part, called on the Italians to seriously discuss the economic blockade imposed by the EU on Syria and also insisted on the contacts to be on the political level.

Rome’s response came through a suggestion that EU Commissionaire for Foreign Affairs and Security Federica Mogherini will handle the contacts on the EU part.

After weeks of exchnages between the two parties, and after an intervention by the Lebanese General Ibrahim who met the Italian chief of intelligence, an agreement was reached that Syrian head of national security General Ali Mamlouk, who is on the EU Black List would visit Rome.

Italy, as a good will initiative, sent a private jet to fly the Syrian official to Rome where he met the minister of interior Marco Minniti and the head of intelligence in Italy.

Italian officials confirmed to the visiting Syrian guest that there will be a soon easing of the EU economic blockade and their willingness to work with their other than France and UK ‘EU Partners’ on this file, especially that France and the UK still insist on their rejection in any cooperation with Damascus especially in the security issue!

France, as the al-Akhbar concludes, showed interest in cooperating with Damascus but through a third mutual friend close to the Syrians, like Iran or any other ally, whom in turn refused any such notion. France’s main concern is the French citizens detained by the Syrian security forces.

General Ali Mamlouk is a career officer in the Syrian security agencies who served up his ranks in a number of the agencies supporting the Syrian Arab Army and the police forces. Syrian president Dr. Bashar Assad appointed Mr. Mamlouk in his current position after the explosion of the Crisis Cell in July 2012 and the killing of top officers including Martyr General Hisham Bukhtiyar his predecessor. General Mamlouk born in 1946 in a very much Sunni family in Damascus of Caucasian origins.

Sounds like Italy has come to rue its support of alQaeda in Syria. See the “Armageddon” report for massive evidence of funding terrorists, and involvement in human trafficking.
