The senior leader, Salih Muslim, of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the so-called Syrian offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK / Kurdish: Partiya Karkerên Kurdistan), has rejected the reports about their alleged plans of a temporary autonomous government in northern Syria near the Syrian border to the neighbouring country of Turkey in a new interview and said, there will be no autonomy in northern Syria.

In terms of the reports about the plan by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and their Syrian branch, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), in addition to other Kurdish groups, the upcoming and already published reports are very strange.

On the one hand, there were published reports by several news agencies from different countries that the Syrian Kurds plans to establish an autonomy with the help of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (Kurdish: Partiya Karkerên Kurdistan / PKK) above the Syrian city of Aleppo (Halab) and near to the border to Turkey.

On the other hand, Salih Muslim has now rejected these reports in a statement to the Chinese state news agency Xinhua. The Chinese state news agency Xinhua published a new report about this alleged planned Kurdish temporary autonomous government in northern Syria and cited the senior leader of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Salih Muslim.

According to this report by the Chinese news agency Xinhua, Salih Muslim rejected the previous reports and said that there is no intentions among the Kurdish groups to establish their own government in northern Syria.

The senior leader of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the Syrian branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK / Kurdish: Partiya Karkerên Kurdistan), also stated, at least according to the report by the Chinese news agency, that there is no plan among the Kurds to secede from Syria and thus, there will be no autonomy in northern Syria by the Syrian Kurds.

The Qatari state propaganda channel, some call it Al-Jazeera news network, has quoted the senior leader of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Salih Muslim, yesterday and according to this report, which has been rejected by Salih Muslim today, the Syrian Kurds were said to plan a temporary autonomous government in the northern area of Syria, near the Turkish border.

After the rejection by the senior leader of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Salih Muslim, it seems that the Qatar state channel and propaganda spreader Al-Jazeera has once again, after all the previous lies, just spread a lie in order to influence the opinions of the Kurdish and Syrian people and to implement scepticism, disunity and aspersions.

It is not the first time that the Qatari propaganda network Al-Jazeera is spreading false reports in order to support the policies and acts of the regime in Qatar. Same applies for al Arabiya and the totalitarian dictatorship of Saudi Arabia.

The Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad in the capital Damascus has granted the Kurds within the Syrian borders a certain level of autonomy since the year 2012 and many Syrian Kurds are now also controlling the security of the northern region of Syria and, for example, fight against the Syrian Al Qaeda offshoot – the Jabhat al Nusra (al-Nusra Front) – in the area of Ras al-Ain (Ras al-Ayn), the important border town in the north.
