LG G2: New Android Flagship Device with Snapdragon 800 CPU.
LG will certainly unveil the successor of the LG Optimus G at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT in an event at the Lincoln Center in New York, USA.
However, a little more than 12 hours before LG is expected to finally present its new Android flagship device, the first press image of the smartphone has leaked out and shows that the volume rocker is indeed on the rear side under the flash of the LG G2. It remains to be seen whether this position of the volume rocker at the upcoming LG G2 is helpful in terms of handling the volume level of the device or not.
It is at least very interesting that the company has changed the usual position of the volume rocker with this new Android smartphone. Maybe the new position at the rear side of the LG G2 Android flagship of the company is really better to handle than the usual positions on the side of smartphones. We will see…
Of course, the press shot leak of the upcoming LG G2 smartphone, which will certainly introduced by the company at the event in New York is more a purported marketing image and no real leak of a new flagship device of LG.
The press shot leak of the LG G2, that will be unveiled G at about 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT in an event at the Lincoln Centre in New York, also incidentally displays the time and date of the event, which is taking place on Wednesday.
In addition, the press shot leak of the new LG G2 smartphone with Android (it is said it will feature Android 4.2.2 and receive an update to Android 4.3 soon…) was obtained and tweeted by the Twitter account of evleaks on Tuesday afternoon.
The front side of the new Android flagship by LG shows the normal speaker grill in addition to the three capacitive buttons. The rear side, as mentioned, features the volume rocker arm (looks like this),which is located beneath the rear-facing primary camera of the LG G2 smartphone.
The South Korean electronics company has already announced the LG G2, and thus, the successor of the LG Optimus G, some weeks ago and it has been already confirmed by LG, that they will drop the Optimus branding for the new and then continuously used “G Premium” brand at LG. That’s the reason why the new flagship by LG is called LG G2 and not LG Optimus G2, although it doesn’t make a huge difference and some believe that LG Optimus G2 would sound better than LG G2.
The complete technical specifications of the LG G2 device are not yet revealed by LG. However, it is to expect that the new device will feature a Qualcomm Quad-Core processor – the Snapdragon 800 CPU (SoC) as well as Android 4.2.2 – followed by a soon update to Android 4.3.
Further, it is to expect that the LG G2 will come with 2GB RAM and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The display size should be around 5 inches.
