Tehran praises Russia’s stance on Syrian conflict.

The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, has strictly condemned the recent attack with mortar shells by a group of terrorists against the embassy of Russia in Syria’s capital, Damascus.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in his new statement that Tehran strictly condemns the attacks against such installations and offices. The recent attack by terrorists against the Russian embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus has injured three workers at the embassy when a mortar shell hit the compound of Russia’s diplomatic mission.

The attack with a mortar shell took place on September 22. On the same day, other foreign-backed terrorists have attacked the Christian-populated and famous district of Bab Tuma (Bab Touma) in Damascus – also with mortar shells. The attack against the Christian-populated district in Syria’s capital has caused the death of several residents in the area, while other civilians were wounded.

The recent attack by foreign-supported terrorists against the Russian embassy in Damascus on September 22 was not the first attack against the embassy in Syria’s capital. Since the beginning of the armed terrorism in Syria, the groups of terrorists and jihadists have attacked the Russian embassy in Damascus already several times. Already at the beginning of this month, the embassy of Russia was hit by a mortar shell that has been fired by a group of terrorists.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has now strictly condemned these attacks by militants against the Russian embassy in Damascus today.

And while Hossein Amir-Abdollahian slammed the terrorist attacks on Russia’s embassy in the Syrian capital Damascus, the Iranian Minister also praised the attempts by Moscow to find a political and peaceful solution to the Syrian conflict. The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian said that the role of Russia would be based on a focus on democratic and political solution to conflicts.

And he added that Tehran cannot understand the governments that still advocate a military intervention in the Arab country. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian explained that the support by these Western countries for a possible military intervention in Syria is not to understand and that the support of certain states for the Takfiri terrorists and gunmen in Syria represents a serious danger for the entire region of the Middle East and even for the world.

Of course, the support for armed jihadists and terrorists is certainly never a really good idea and could backfire someday. For example, when some Islamists and jihadists/ terrorists will return to their home lands after their fighting on Syrian soil against the secular government of President Bashar al-Assad, and it seems clear that some of these terrorists pose a more or less serious threat for the national security of their home lands.

In terms of the new statement by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian regarding the terrorist attack on the Russian embassy in Damascus and the stance of Moscow, it seems that the Iranian Minister has not heard about the recent statement by the Tunisian President in direction to Tehran in advance of his statement condemning the attack on the embassy of Russia in Damascus.

The Tunisian President has called on Tehran to support the finding of a political and peaceful solution to the Syrian conflict on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting. However, it remains questionable what Tunis has done so far to find such a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the conflict and crisis in Syria.
