Terrorists fired Mortar Shells on Holy Shrine of Sayyidah Zaynab

Bomb explosion near Damascus Tower

Several mortar shells, fired by a group of foreign-backed terrorists, have hit the holy shrine of Sayyidah Zaynab near the Syrian capital of Damascus today. It is sad to expect that the Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque (Arabic: مسجد السيدة زينب‎) has suffered damages after the attack with mortar shells by the terrorists against the holy shrine of Hazrat Zaynab (AS), located in the Syrian city of Sayyidah Zaynab in the southern suburbs of Damascus.

The Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque is located in the southern suburbs of the Syrian capital Damascus and the mosque is considered (by Shiites) to contain the grave of Zaynab – the granddaughter of the prophet Muhammad. Zaynab was the daughter of ‘Alī and Fātimah and while Shiites consider the grave of Zaynab to be located within the Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque near Damascus, Sunnis consider the tomb of Zaynab within a mosque with the same name in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

This difference was never a problem in recent years in the secular Arab nation of Syria and it should be no problem, to be honest. Every sectarian violence or even war is just to condemn and thus, the implementation of the Salvador option by foreign powers in Syria is a war crime.

The Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque has already suffered damage in an attack by terrorists in June last year, and a car bomb exploded on the intersection that leads up to the Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque in September 2008.

Last month, a group of foreign-backed terrorists have clashed with soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the shrine of Hazrat Zeinab (AS). Sadly, it seems this area in the south of the Syrian capital Damascus is still not completely cleaned. It’s about time.

Now, another group of foreign-backed terrorists fired several mortar shells on the holy shrine of Hazrat Zaynab (AS) near the Syrian capital, Damascus.

As mentioned, it is to expect that the Sayyidah Zaynab Mosque in the city of Sayyidah Zaynab in the southern suburbs of Damascus has suffered serious damages by the mortar shells fired by these terrorists.

So far, there is no further information published about the attack with mortar shells against the holy shrine of Sayyidah Zaynab near Damascus. One can just hope the best for the buildings..
