Syria: Is Trump To End US Perpetual War, Starting Here?

by Miri Wood, RNc

In shocking victory, flamboyant real estate billionaire Donald Trump narrowly defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to become the  45th president of the United States, on 7 November.  The vote was unprecedented, as never in US history has a non-politician been elected to our highest office, with the exception of a handful who had been high level military men, the last of whom was Five Star General, Dwight D. Eisenhower.   Former First Lady Clinton had more than 44 years of political history on her side, dating back to her early days in which she assisted in the Watergate hearings against President Nixon.  Also on the side of the former US senator and Secretary of State, was much of Capitol Hill, Wall Street, Henry Kissinger, most Hollywood celebrities, and US mainstream- and alternative media.

In obscene fundraising and campaign spending, Clinton raised $1.3 Billion, to Trump’s $795 M (slightly more than $66 M he personally donated to his campaign), and the ratio of Clinton/Trump advertisements was 3:1.

During the final weeks, Clinton’s campaign was dogged, first by rumors of significant health problems, and then by email server scandals, scandals about cheating on debate questions, scandals regarding dirty tricks against the Sanders campaign, scandals from WikiLeaks (whose veracity she acknowledged during the final debate, 19 October), scandals regarding possible geopolitical favors given while Secretary of State to absolute monarchies which had donated large infusions of money into the Clinton Foundation.

Though not noted in mainstream and alternative media, surely the scandals of her support for 7 wars also dogged her; instead of trying to distance herself from her war crimes, she bragged about having pushed President Obama to destroy Libya, and promised to do the same to Syria, upon assuming the presidency.   One of Clinton’s top priorities as future president was to disenfranchise the Syrian people, via the “removal” of their elected president, Bashar al Assad.

A Syrian woman casting her vote, 3 June 2014. Colonialist Clinton wanted to “remove” her chosen president

Professional journalists did not launch investigative teams to corroborate, or disprove, WikiLeaks.  Instead, they shamelessly resurrected the McCarthy Witch Hunts, one of the many shameless blights on American domestic history.  These professional Vichy urinalists blamed a foreign country for ‘interfering’ in US elections; they exhibited collective memory deficits, oblivious to such unimportant things as Clinton strategist, Bob Beckel having expressed his desire to “[I]llegally shoot the son of a bitch,” WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, on national tv, early August. They magically forgot that former Acting CIA Director Michael Morrell — also a Clinton advisor, and also in early August — had called for a massive renewal of CIA assassinations in Syria.  There was no matter to be paid to the facts that the US spent 5 billion bipartisan dollars on the Nazimaidan coup in the Ukraine, nor the US role in the fascist coup against Honduras, nor even of Time magazine once having bragged of US involvement in helping Boris Yeltsin become the first leader of post soviet Russia.

Though Secretary Clinton called President-Elect Trump in the early hours of Wednesday morning, to congratulate and to concede, she left her most earnest supporters stranded — in their sadness — until almost 12 hours later, when she continued in her anti-wall stance by having erected a massive tent from the door of her hotel, to the vehicle that took her to the New Yorker Hotel Grand Ballroom.

Magical thinking creates magical blindness, as noted by the silence over the wall erected around the Wells Fargo Center, in Philadelphia, for the Democratic National Committee convention, and for the large cyclone fence erected 1/2 mile away, in FDR Park, to herd in the orwellian free speech proponents — who were arrested by Philly police, whenever they climbed over it.

The awkward moment when kids 4 and 6 years old, talk about US elections.  My nieces this early morning:  Wake up, Aunty…thank God that war criminal Clinton doesn’t win the election.  Aunty, do you think Trump would be better than Obama, Obama the one that killed our daddy and destroyed our country?  — post-election Facebook status of a Syrian woman.

Secretary Clinton’s unfashionably late concession speech forfeited the opportunity to be genial, to be gracious. Excepting her statements that she had “congratulated Donald Trump,” and noting that “[W]e owe him an open mind and the chance to lead,” Clinton’s speech was filled with throwing shade, throwing so much, that one might have expected her to re-condemn the almost 50% of the electorate as that “basket of deplorables.”

People want change and they’re sick of the establishment…[I]f Trump wins it will be an amazing moment of change because it would destroy the power structure of the Republican party, the power structure of the Democratic party and destroy the power of the media. — Professor Camille Paglia, US Academic — in a slightly more complex pre-election explanation of a possible Trump win — than “hater” or “deplorables.”

Twice, Clinton mentioned the President-Elect, by name.  In neither occasion did she refer to him as President-Elect — despite her having been First Lady, having been US Senator, having been Secretary of State, she did not acknowledge the proper title due her former opponent (her offer “to work with him on behalf of our country” was both odd, and inauspicious enough to keep on the back burner).  Given the unique phenomenon of tens of thousands of persons generally obsessed with democracy (despite the US having been founded as “A republic, Madam, if you can keep it.”) protesting against the results of a democratic election (in an infantile, Rumpelstiltskin-type degradation of Rosa Luxemburg’s “mass strike” ferment?), a closer inspection of Clinton’s concession speech may be useful.  Such a look becomes especially important when we remember the near universal condemnation over nominee Trump’s refusal to state he would accept the election outcome (“There’s nothing worse — or less presidential — than a sore loser.“) if he lost.

This is painful, and it will be for a long time suggests that Clinton wished to replace perpetual war with perpetual campaigns of pain.  Immediately after the results were announced, universities around the country announced ‘counseling’ programs.  Reports arrived that some professors were making school work optional, so that students could “process” their disappointments.

Very rowdy group.  Was it?  A pan of the audience showed dedicated campaign workers looking disappointed, legitimately saddened, but not “rowdy.”

This vast, diverse, creative, unruly, energized campaign.  “Rowdy,” and “unruly”?

We don’t just respect that.  The negative word came after “Our constitutional democracy enshrines the peaceful transfer of power.”

This loss hurts.  More reinforcement on the need for continuing pain, and for continuing victimization.

The face of dignified grief. Syrian mom, Souri Habib Ali holds the names of her 6 children killed while defending their country from NATO-backed terrorists.

And so we need — we need you to keep up these fights now and for the rest of your lives….and you should never, ever regret fighting for that.

On 9 November, President Obama met President-Elect Trump, in the Rose Garden.  The reports showed a terse duo, devoid of even a remote sense of affability.  CBS News noted that “the traditional photo op,” “the warm greeting,” and “the cheer” were all absent.  So much for the enshrinement of the “peaceful transfer of power.”  Permanently missing from the photo album of US history is the comfort of the previously cordial first greetings.

In a former lifetime, the blatant acrimony in the faces of the Obama staff, would have been considered a rude breach in diplomatic etiquette, but all such pretense has long since been eradicated.

Psaki and Rice, front row & center

Jen Psaki is now the White House Communications Director.  During her time as State Department press liaison, among her most memorable moments were her legitimizing of the un-diplomatic restriction of mobility placed on His Excellency, Dr. Bashar al Ja’afari, Syria’s ambassador to the UN, in early 2014, and her legitimizing the call of Yemeni proxy-puppet president Hadi, demanding  genocide against his country, after ‘fleeing’ to that bastion of democracy (and Clinton Foundation contributor) Saudi occupied Arabia,  in early 2015.   After President Obama announced on 10 September 2014 his intention to breach international law, by bombing Syria, Psaki followed up with a double-down of war crimes, in warning the SAR that any attempt by the Syrian government to shoot down illegal US bomber jets within Syrian territory, would be viewed as an act of war.  Psaki’s threat came after Syria’s Ambassador al Ja’afari stated that his country would welcome assistance of other countries in wiping out terrorist invaders, but that such assistance would have to be under the control of his government.

US strikes in Syria may be lawful if Syria consents to the use of force in their territory.  If Syria does not consent, the strikes would violate international law, unless the US demonstrates that the strikes were taken in self-defense.  — Sarah Knuckey, international lawyer and Professor at Columbia Law School

Among the results of US/NATO criminal bombings of the SAR have been the murders of hundreds of Syrian civilians, and the slaughter of more than 80 Syrian soldiers, soldiers bombed while defending their country within its borders.

National Security Advisor Susan Rice was previously the US Ambassador to the UN, during which time she launched the un-diplomatic, now-mandatory campaign of dramatic walk-outs, every time Syria’s ambassador speaks.  On D-Day 2016, Rice gave an interview to CNN, in which she noted that the US has given the terrorists more than $1.7 billion in “aid” to destroy the Syrian Arab Republic.  She made no pretense of hiding US colonialist destruction of a sovereign nation; Americans might consider our own thoughts, were a foreign country arming killers to destroy US, and remove our president.

That’s why the United States has ramped up its support for the moderate vetted opposition, providing lethal and non-lethal support where we can, to support both the civilian and military opposition.  — Susan Rice, D-Day 2016

Watching Donald J. Trump’s very early Wednesday morning acceptance speech was a stunningly surreal experience. A life time demeanor of perpetual arrogance seemed to have been abruptly replaced with an externally imposed humility.  Quite unexpectedly, he looked quite presidential.

It was surreal to see humility, and a nanosecond of epiphora

His speech was wholly — and, again, unexpectedly — gracious, and looked even more so, when contrasted to Clinton’s concession speech, despite her having about 10 hours to give it a bit of a graciousness tweaking.

Immediately after thanking everyone, he praised the hard work of “Secretary Clinton,” called for binding “the wounds of division,” reached out for “guidance” from those who did not support him, and resurrected FDR’s famous pre-presidential speech of 7 April 1932:  “The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.”

The unusual tone of optimism also seemed inspired by FDR’s Inaugural Speech of 1933:

No dream is too big, no challenge is too great.  Nothing we want for our future is beyond our reach.  America will no longer settle for anything less than the best.  We must reclaim our country’s destiny and dream big and bold and daring.  We have to do that.  We’re going to dream of things for our country, and beautiful things and successful things, once again.

Then, Donald J. Trump did the also unimaginable; he offered entente to the world:

I want to tell the world community that while we will always put America’s interests first, we will deal fairly with everyone, with everyone; all people and all other nations.  We will seek common ground, not hostility; partnership, not conflict.

Hearing these words elicited a sense of both the familiar, and the unprecedented.  The familiarity was discovered in the FDR inaugural speech:

In the field of world policy I would dedicate this Nation to the policy of the good neighbor — the neighbor who resolutely respects himself and, because he does so, respects the rights of others — the neighbor who respects his obligations and respects the sanctity of his agreements in and with a world of neighbors.

That it felt unparalleled — at least in recent history — was disturbing, and, as memory is too frequently mistaken, this writer went back 28 years, to study seven previous acceptance speeches (inexplicably, Convention acceptance speeches are more easily found, than those of final elections).  Memory in this case was unfortunately accurate; not only was President-Elect Trump’s speech unprecedented, but with one exception, all engaged in subtle war propaganda.

George H. W. Bush‘s 1988 acceptance speech was as tight-lipped as one might expect from a former Director of the CIA.  It contained mostly thanks, and some scattered words that could fit into a “nice” category:  “The people have spoken,” “kinder, gentler nation,” and “reaching hands.”  This Bush oversaw the invasion of Panama, and kidnapping of that country’s head of state, Manuel Noriega, the Gulf War against Iraq (which included bombings of Iraqi oil facilities in Kuwait), and some quiet bombings of Somalia, under the Newspeak “Operation Restore Hope.”

Bill Clinton*’s 1992 acceptance speech contained an especial thanks to George H. W. Bush for “our victory” in the Gulf War, and the seemingly delphic statement that “This election is a clarion call for our country to face the challenge of the end of the Cold War and the beginning of the next century.”  It is curious to envision a cessation of hostilities as problematic; stranger, still was Clinton labeling his election a battle call.

Bill Clinton‘s 1996 acceptance speech was increasingly militarized, while still being fixated on “Finishing the business of the Cold War, meeting the new threats to our security through terrorism [sic] and the proliferation of dangerous weapons and seizing these extraordinary opportunities to extend our values of peace and democracy and prosperity.”

The mystery of the challenge of the end of the Cold War appears to have been solved via the replacement of communists as “perpetual enemies,” with Muslims; under B. Clinton’s administration, 6 countries were bombed, many of which held predominantly Muslim populations.**

George W. Bush‘s 2000 acceptance speech sounded incoherent enough that he may have written it, himself (under siege, and doing his utmost to evacuate his fears onto the country):  “We will confront the hard issues — threats to our national security…”; “…millions trapped in schools, where violence is common…”; “our opponents…”.

George W. Bush‘s 2004 acceptance speech included the peculiar promise that “We’ll help the emerging democracies of Iraq and Afghanistan…so they can grow in strength and defend their freedom [sic].”  Secular Iraq was destroyed under Bush II — who also bombed Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen.

Barack H. Obama‘s 2008 acceptance speech was quite short on the hope of his campaigning.  As for change, there really was no need, as the American population  — after 8 years of seas of blood by Clinton and W. Bush — had been primed for more war mongering:  “…brave Americans waking up in the deserts of Iraq and mountains of Afghanistan…”; “…when the bombs fell…”; “To those — to those who would tear the world down.  We will defeat you.”

Barack H. Obama‘s 2012 acceptance speech was more of the bloody same:  “…But also a country that moves with confidence, beyond this time of war…”; “…The freedom which so many Americans have fought for and died for…”; “…and in those SEALs who charged up the stairs into darkness…” (cue the violin strings).  To this one, Obama added a dollop of guilt mixed with preparation for subsequent humanitarian bombings:  “We can never forget that as we speak people in distant nations are risking their lives right now just for a chance to argue about the issues that matter, the chance to cast their ballots like we did today.”

President Obama’s second acceptance speech came one year after he oversaw the obliteration of Libya (beginning with the destruction of the infrastructure of the Great Man-Made River), the turning of the country into what RAND Corporation described as a “safe haven for terrorists.”  The Obama administration holds the record for bombing the most countries of any presidency, since World War II:  Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen.  In 2015, our esteemed Nobel Laureate oversaw the dropping of more than 23,000 bombs on Muslim-majority countries.

Not only was the President-Elect’s acceptance speech unprecedented in the past 28 years (34, actually, as Ronald Reagan’s, of ’80 and ’84, revealed nothing), but his unexpected victory appeared to have created a massive, immediate foreign policy shift in the Treasury Department, which is responsible for the Specially Designated Nationals (SDNs) list.  On 10 November, Treasury — in coordination with the State Department — added four more to the this terrorists file:  Abdallah Muhammad al Muhaysini, takfiri from Saudi [occupied] Arabia, illegally in Syria, is known for his training of child soldiers; Abdul Jashari, of Macedonia, illegally in Syria; Ashraf Ahmad Fari al Allak, Jordanian, illegally in Syria, and an actual Syrian, Jamal Husayn Zayniyah.

Saudi terrorist Muhaysini, shown with his child soldier trainees, calls himself an ‘immigrant’ in Syria

Additionally, Treasury named Jabhat Fatah al Sham (“JaF,” “JFS”) “an alias of al Nusrah Front” (“JaN”).  The enormity of this shocking US foreign policy shift cannot be overstated.  On 1 August, CNN launched a propaganda campaign to help clean up the image of al Qaeda terrorists fighting to destroy Syria, when its golden girl Clarissa Ward interviewed Aussie barbarian Mostafa Mahamed — illegally in Syria — who claimed that JaN had undergone a friendly divorce from al Qaeda, and had renamed itself JaF.

CNN’s Clarissa Ward, right, has illegally entered the SAR multiple times, embedding herself with takfiri

On 8 August, Ward and other terrorist sympathizers were given a UN audience by Ambassador Samantha Power, for purpose of another round of anti-Syria propaganda.  Power noted that “opposition groups” supported by the US had been joined by JaN in joint armed fighting against the Syrian Arab Army.  The only inference to be made by this admission was that the US was stage setting to remove JaN from the terror list, a demand made by most of the various “presidents” of the “Syrian National Coalition” — recognized by Obama as the ‘legitimate’ representatives of the Syrian people, despite not being voted for by the Syrian people, and despite not living in the SAR for decades.

In late September, Aussie global terrorist Mahamed, new SDN Muhaysini, and NYC born and reared mercenary, Bilal Kareem — all illegally in the SAR —  cheered the news that terrorist gang al Zinki had joined the military wing of JaF.  al Zinki  — previously affiliated with the original terrorists in Syria, the “FSA” — was the gang that cut off the head of 12 year old Syrian-Palestinian, Abdullah Issa, in July.

Terrorist Kareem interviewing co-terrorist. CNN’s Ward has cheered Kareem’s “extraordinary brave reporting.”

This decisive shift noting that the al Qaeda operatives name change is merely an “alias” — coming less than two days after the election, received no major press coverage.   The msm is too busy running reports about how Obama “must find a way to explain Trump” — Obama who does not have to “explain” dropping more than 23,000 bombs on Muslim-majority countries, last year — on his final foreign tour, and a Pulitzer-winning journalist works hard to diminish the Bush/Cheneyac atrocities of Abu Ghraib into ”embarrassment” and “disappointment” on par with the Lewinsky scandal, for the shameless purpose calling the election results worse.

SyriaNews congratulates President-Elect Donald J. Trump on his victory, and we hope he will nurture the entente offered to the world, in his acceptance speech.  In furtherance of this noble principle, we request that upon inauguration, President Trump immediately restore full diplomatic relations with the Syrian Arab Republic, including the release of restrictions on the mobility of Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, H.E. Bashar al Ja’afari, and removal of the draconian sanctions against the SAR.  On 30 October 2014, the diplomat stressed that the Syrian Arab Army could destroy ISIS in three days, were the “coalition” to halt the funding, arming, training, and facilitation of entry of terrorists.***

NB  In 2009, Syria’s President Bashar al Assad extended a public invitation to US President Barack Obama, to visit Damascus.  Imagine what the current world situation might now be, had Mr. Obama engaged in entente.

*In January 1992, then-candidate Clinton broke from the campaign trail to return to Arkansas to witness the execution of Ricky Ray Rector, who was so mentally incompetent that he saved the desert of his last meal “for later,” for after the execution.  This move gave him a ‘bump’ in ratings.

Nancy and Arabi, thank you for your very kind words.

I especially appreciate them, as occasionally I wonder if my reports may be too long. Then I remember that the battle for honest journalism requires the uphill fight against 24/7 propaganda, much of it, colonialist…and which cannot be countered with a soundbyte.

The British help bomb a popular uprising in Yemen while their head of defence procurement in Rhiyadh siphons money from defence contracts to live the high life. Pocketing money and committing tax fraud while his own country’s soldiers go ill equipped to wars in countries where they have no business being.
