Russian Minister Of Defense Sergei Shoigu has confirmed the completion of the delivery of S300 air defense systems to Syria.

In an interview with al-Mayadeen, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem stated that Syria’s Russian friends confirmed the S300 as capable of protecting Syria’s airspace. He also noted that the S400 remains an ambition.
Russia promised to fulfill the previously contracted S300 air defense systems delivery to Syria after Israeli fighter jets used a Russian surveillance IL20 as shield from the outdated Syrian S200 systems which led to the shooting down of the Russian plane and the killing of all its 15 crew.
Previously, Russia failed to deliver the same systems to Syria in 2013 upon the request of the Israeli regime.
