former australian foreign minister warns against sending arms to syrian opposition

PRAGUE, (SANA) – Former Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Gareth Evans warned of that sending arms to the Syrian opposition, which includes non-democratic movements will not bring peace to Syria, indicating that some of the opposition groups are growing more radical. In an interview with the Czech Respect Magazine, Evans said that the foreign military intervention in Syria might worsen the situation. He added that it is better for the American and European politicians not to prevent holding political negotiations. Evans said that the current crisis in Syria is linked to conflicts between different regional forces.
