Turkey / Syria: Arrest of Murder Suspects in the case of the kidnapped Bishops

Turkey & al-Qaeda

As just announced by the Turkish newspaper Today’s Zaman, which is known to be a mouthpiece of the Turkish ruling party AKP/JDP, the Turkish police was able to arrest three murder suspects on the highway between the Turkish cities of Konya and Ankara (Konya-Ankara highway).

The three persons, which were arrested by the Turkish police on the highway between Konya and Ankara, are suspected to be the murderers of Pavlov Yazici, the Greek Orthodox bishop of Aleppo and Hatay, and Yuhhana İbrahim, the Assyrian Orthodox Bishop of Aleppo.

It seems that the three murder suspects come from Chechen, Russia and Syria. One of the arrested murder suspects is a person of Chechen nationality, while another of these arrested suspects has a Russian nationality. The third person owns a Syrian nationality.

The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet also reports about the arrest of the murder suspects, who are probably responsible for the killing of Pavlov Yazici, the Greek Orthodox bishop of Aleppo and Hatay, and Yuhhana İbrahim, the Assyrian Orthodox Bishop of Aleppo.

The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reports that the murder suspects were already released after their arrest on the highway between the Turkish cities of Konya and Ankara (Konya-Ankara highway).

The three murder suspects were told by the Turkish authorities to return to their home countries, according to the information published by the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.

It seems that the release of the three murder suspects by the Turkish authorities should prevent the situation that the suspicion against them was (and is) completely correct and that the three murder suspects are the kidnappers of two Christian bishops and the murderers of one of the chaplains, who was a part of the group of the Christian bishops in Syria.

In addition, in terms of the suspicion against the three persons and their nationalities, the Turkish authorities probably wanted to prevent by the release of the three suspects shortly after their arrest that it might be revealed that they belong to a terrorist gang which is not only led by Abu Omar, the Chechen, but also supported by the Erdogan government in Turkey. Not to mention their Finnish friends.

This suspicion about the three murder suspects was already there in terms of their probably membership in the terrorist group led by “the Chechen”, Abu Omar. Further, there are not only rumours that say that the Turkish Erdogan governments supports this terrorist group of Abu Omar behind the curtains.

Thus, the Turkish authorities might have prevented by the release of the three murder suspects that the details will be revealed by an investigation of an independent Turkish judge.
