Syrian Delegation visits North Korean leader Kim Jong-un

North Korea and Syria have “cordial talks”.

According to the reports by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the Syrian delegation to North Korea had “cordial talk” with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang shortly before the 60th anniversary of the Korean War ceasefire.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reports that the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, and the Syrian delegation, including Abdullah al-Ahmar, deputy secretary general of Syria’s ruling Baath Arab Socialist Party, had good talks and that the North Korean leader exchanged his “views on the issue of boosting the bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern including the regional situation” with the official delegation from Syria.

The Syrian delegation to North Korea was headed by Abdullah al-Ahmar from the Syrian Baath party (Baath Arab Socialist Party).

The report by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) further says that the Syrian delegation has transferred the warm greetings of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during the meeting in Pyongyang ahead of the 60th anniversary of the Korean War ceasefire. North Korea commemorates the Fatherland Liberation War Day on July 27 in order to not forget about the end of the Korean War (1950-1953).

The Syrian delegation was invited by officials from North Korea to visit Pyongyang and to meet the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in this city. The official delegation from Syria was also invited to take part in the events around the Fatherland Liberation War Day in North Korea.

The report by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) also mentions that Abdullah al-Ahmar, deputy secretary general of Syria’s ruling Baath Arab Socialist Party, said after the meeting that the Syrian delegation and the North Korean leader had good talks and that the bilateral cooperation between Syria and North Korea would even grow in future.

According to the deputy secretary general of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, Abdullah al-Ahmar, the bilateral cooperation between Damascus and Pyongyang not only continue to grow strong, but they will also grow “in the interests of the two peoples.”
