Syria: US Passport Found in Al-Qaeda Base

American passport of Amiir Farouk Ibrahim

An American passport was found among several other identification documents belonging to foreign fighters in Syria. These foreign-backed fighters from abroad are supporting the armed terrorist groups and jihadists in their violent fights in Syria against the secular government of President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.

The identification documents of foreign fighters and the passport of an American citizen were found at an Al-Qaeda base in northern Syria. The identification part (passport) is said to belong to an US citizen, who fought in Syria in the ranks of the jihadist units of Al-Qaeda – probably in the ranks of the Islamist fighters of the Syrian Al-Qaeda offshoot, the Jabhat al-Nusra (al-Nusra Front).

The identification documents of these foreigners were discovered at an Al-Qaeda base abandoned by the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant”, an al Qaeda-linked terrorist group, which also operates in Syria beside the Jabhat al-Nusra (al-Nusra Front) and other affiliated terrorist groups.

The US passport belongs to the person Amiir Farouk Ibrahim. Amiir Farouk Ibrahim was born in Pennsylvania on Oct. 30, 1980. Amiir Farouk Ibrahim passport was issued by the US authorities on March 6, 2012. But this is not all. Amiir Farouk Ibrahim also owns an Egyptian passport that was issued by the Egyptian authorities on September 23, 2012.

In his Egyptian passport, he is called Amiir (Amir) Farouk Zaki Ibrahim. The Egyptian passport also says that Amiir Farouk (Zaki) Ibrahim was born on October 30, 1980 – in the United States.

The passport of this US citizen, Amiir Farouk Ibrahim, was discovered between 15 other identification documents of foreigners. According to the so-called “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights”, the biased one-man snack shop near London, the identification documents were found at “one of the bases of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham [Syria or the Levant] in the city of Ras al-Ayn” (sometimes also Ras al-Ain or Ras al-Ein) in northern Syria, directly at the border to Turkey.

This questionable “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights”, the British one-man show, stated in a status update on their propaganda page at the social network Facebook that the identification documents “belong to several non-Syrian men from Western and Arab countries”.

The foreign nationalities of the identified individuals by the passports and identification documents are as follows: one dual citizen, of the US and Egypt (Ibrahim); one individual from each of Qatar, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates; two from Saudi Arabia (of the three passports from Saudi Arabia, two appear to identify the same person), and two each from Iraq, Turkey, and Tunisia. Another identification document appears to link to a man born in Egypt.

According to the information by the questionable “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” (SOHR), based in Britain, the documents were found after the “Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham [Syria or the Levant]” (ISIS) retreated from the Syrian town of Ras al-Ayn after intense battles with the YPG fighters last week.

The YPG is a Kurdish group of fighters with links to the PKK. The so-called “The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant” fought against the Kurdish fighters of the YPG next to the jihadists of the Jabhat al-Nusra in the area of the Syrian border town Ras al-Ayn and other regions near the Syrian-Turkish border since some weeks. The fate of the owners of the identification cards and passports is not known.

In case if the identity of Amiir (Amir) Farouk Zaki Ibrahim as an American citizen is confirmed, Ibrahim would be the second American known to wage a so-called jihad in Syria in the ranks of the Syrian Al-Qaeda branch or an affiliated terrorist groups with Islamist tendencies.

Eric Harroun, a former US soldier, is in US custody and he is already charged with fighting alongside the Syrian Al-Qaeda offshoot, the Jabhat al-Nusra (al Nusra Front) in Syria against the Syrian Arab army (SAA) and the secular government in Damascus. Since some time, the Al-Qaeda branch in Syria also fights against the foreign-backed terrorists and criminals of the so-called “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) in Syria.

A former important member of Al-Qaeda has recently confirmed the CIA links to the famous terrorist group, which has been established by the US administration years ago.
