Foreign Minister Denied Claims about Iran’s Army in Damascus

Iran / Syria

The Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem made it very clear in a statement from yesterday that there are no units of the Iranian military in the Syrian capital Damascus and the Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem also said in his statement that Iran was and is always interested in a political solution for the conflict and crisis on Syrian soil.

Thus, Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem has categorically denied the Western claims about the presence of Iranian military in the capital Damascus and made it clear that Iran seeks a political solution for Syria and not a solution by force, although it is truly correct that there cannot be a political solution while there are foreign-backed armed jihadists on Syrian soil carrying out massacres and terrorism.

The Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem of Syria told his statements to some reports in the capital Damascus yesterday. Al-Moallem also said that these claims by some specific governments in the West, which are meanwhile supporting terrorism, that Iran has some military units on Syrian soil are nothing more than just rumors and finally false.

Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem was also quoted with the statement yesterday that the neighboring country, the Islamic Republic of Iran, has a very important role n the Middle East and thus, is one of the most important countries in the region. In addition, Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem also said that Tehran has always sought a political solution and debates / dialogues to end the war and conflict within Syria – already since the outset of the foreign-sponsored terrorism in the secular Arab state.

Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem afterwards praised the Russian and Iranian stance and position on the conflict in Syria and honored the opposition of both states to let the U.S. administration and its subordinated allies in Western countries do what they want with and in Syria and the Syrian Minister also praised that Tehran and Moscow oppose a military intervention of the imperialist powers and supporters of the jihadi terrorism within Syrian borders.

Already many reports do show that the chaos and violence in Syria are being orchestrated from the outside and that a very large number of all these jihadists and gunmen are foreign nationals – even from Europe, the United States, and Australia.

Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem finally stressed in his yesterday`s statements the importance of Iran’s presence in the upcoming international Geneva Conference (Geneva II.) the topic Syria, while saying that Tehran is also a very influential country in the Middle East region, as mentioned before already.

On May 7, Russia and the United States agreed in the capital of Russia to convene another “international conference” in terms of Syria, which will serve as a follow-up to an earlier Geneva meeting held on June 2012, while knowing that already the first conference in Geneva was worthless due to the sad fact that none of the Western governments stuck to the agreements of this conference.

Tehran has repeatedly expressed its opposition to any military intervention by foreign powers in Syria’s internal affairs and thinks that an inclusive dialog and national reconciliation, as well as free elections in Syria, are the keys to resolving the unrest in the secular Arab nation while the Iranian leaders should probably also implement democratic elections at home first. But that`s indeed another topic. It seems nowadays all the governments know what is good for foreign countries while they do not have the same ideas about their own states.
