Russia: Efforts to Blame al-Assad for Chemical Attack are Baseless

Moscow: Attempts to blame the Syrian government for chemical attack are baseless.

Several Russian Ministers have already spoken about the UN report on the use of chemical weapons in Syria and the ongoing accusations against the Syrian government that it would have used chemical weapons against Syrian civilians, although the released report by the UN inspectors blames nobody and even includes some contradictions as well as the confirmation that the so-called “Syrian rebels” have fabricated one of the chemical attacks in order to deliver a pretext for the United States to launch a UN-led military intervention in Syria.

Not to mention that the UN report even implies, after studying the results of the analysis of the samples from the areas in the countryside of Damascus and the logical conclusions of the included data about the traces of CW agents in the different areas of the Damascus countryside and the missing of traces in one of the suburbs in the UN report, that the so-called “Syrian rebels” used witnesses who lied to the UN inspectors about the alleged chemical weapons attack in the area of Muadamiah, because the laboratory tests of the samples from Muadamiah found no traces of CW agents (in contrast to the analysis of the samples from Ain Tarma and Zamalka).

Thus, the certainly only logical conclusion is that the foreign-backed terrorists have fabricated the chemical weapons attack in Muadamiah and this could also explain why the UN inspectors came under fire when they tried to enter the area of Muadamiah in the countryside of Syria’s capital, Damascus.

The terrorists knew that the samples will contain no traces of CW agents and wanted to prevent that the inspectors of the United Nations (UN) take samples from this area. However, it remains to be seen if and when the United Nations (UN) will mention such conclusions and the other contradictions in the released UN report about the use of chemical weapons in Syria by the inspectors.

In the meantime, there are several new statements by Russian Ministers and it is also known that the Syrian government has handed over new evidence for the use of chemical weapons on Syrian soil by the terrorist groups to Moscow. However, Russia needs some time to investigate and analyse the new evidence that should prove that the armed terrorists are responsible for the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

The new statements by members of the Russian administration in Moscow say, for example, that several Western states are still making baseless efforts to blame the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad for the use of chemical weapons in an attack that has allegedly killed hundreds of Syrian civilians in the suburbs of the capital Damascus in last months.

For example, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Minister in Moscow, Alexander Lukashevich, also said in his new statements that these attempts by certain Western governments to blame the Syrian President al-Assad and his government in Damascus for this horrible attack with chemical warfare agents in the suburbs of Damascus last month are “simplistic and groundless”. And this is certainly a clear statement of what Russia really thinks about the propagandistic behaviour of certain Western states, including the United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

However, also the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has already spoken about the new UN report on the chemical weapons attack in suburbs of Damascus on August 21. Russia’s Foreign Minister said in his new statements that the investigation of the UN mission in Syria has produced no evidence that the units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) were behind such a chemical attack near Damascus. Sergey Lavrov also added that the Russian administration is still convinced that the foreign-backed terrorists were involved in the chemical weapons attack on August 21.

The Russian Foreign Minister underlined that the new report by the UN inspectors confirm that chemical weapons agents were used in Syria, but that the report fails to answer a number of important questions about the use of chemical weapons. Lavrov added that Russia had already asked such important questions as whether the chemical weapons were produced in a factory or if they were homemade. Not to mention that there is evidence that the Saudi regime has transported some chemicals to Syria.

According to the statements by the Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, there are still serious reasons to believe that the chemical attack was meant as a provocation in order to trigger a US-led military strike against Syria. Lavrov added some examples to underline his statement and said that there had already been “many provocations” by the armed terrorist groups in Syria and that all these provocations by the so-called “Syrian rebels” were aimed to provoke a foreign intervention.

Russia’s Foreign Minister finally added that Moscow wants a “dispassionately, objectively and professionally” investigation of the “events of August 21” near Syria’s capital, Damascus. It seems that Russia has the opinion about the UN report by the inspectors that this report is neither objective nor professional.
