Nov 25, 2012
DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Minister of Information, Omran al-Zoubi, stressed the influence of media in shaping the public opinion, hailing the role of the Syrian Arab News Agency and its cadres in conveying the reality of events in Syria to the outside world.
Meeting cadres of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Sunday, the Minister said that the war in Syria became between the state and those who support its logic on one hand and al-Qaeda and Doha Coalition which represent the political leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood group seeking to repeat its black history in Syria on the other hand.
The minister said that there is no objection to the appearance of any opposition figure in official media outlets with one condition, that is not to harm the national sovereignty.
Al-Zoubi added that the journalist’s main task is to convey the whole image and the reality of any event taking place on the ground, adding that there are no red lines on the journalist work as long as it does not undermine the national sovereignty.
He called upon the workers in media sector to concentrate on issues that concern the citizens and help improve the governmental performance.
The minister said that loyalty to the homeland can be translated in hard working and communication with others to find solutions to problems.
The minister inspected the work mechanisms at the Agency departments and listened to the workers’ problems.
