The Finnish mobile phone manufacturer Nokia has just announced the launch of the new Nokia Lumia 625. It is the first Windows Phone-smartphone by Nokia that is equipped with a 4.7-inch display.
In addition, the new Nokia Lumia 625 is a smartphone of the mid to lower price range that has built-in LTE support despite the fairly low price. The Nokia Lumia 625 with Windows Phone OS has a 4.7-inch IPS display with a low resolution of 800×480 pixels.
The screen has a protection cover made of the known Gorilla Glass 2 and a so-called High-Brightness mode to make the display of the Nokia Lumia 625 readable even in the sunlight.
The Nokia Lumia 625 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400-SoC (ARM) under the hood. This dual-core processor runs at 1.2GHz and has an integrated Adreno 305 graphics unit (GPU) – the same GPU that is used in the upcoming HTC One mini.
In addition, the Nokia Lumia 625 features, beside the LTE-support, 512 megabytes of RAM, while eight gigabytes of internal flash memory are installed in the device for the user. The internal storage can be expanded by the use of an external microSD card – up to 64 Gigabyte.
The primary camera of the Nokia Lumia 625 is located at the backside and can take pictures with 5 megapixel and also record videos with a 1080p resolution. Further, there is even a LED flash on the back to support the camera in dark areas. The camera on the front side of the Nokia Lumia 625 is able to record videos in a 480p-resolution.
In addition, under the hood of this new Nokia Windows-Phone-Smartphone, there is Wi-Fi-Support, Bluetooth 4.0 (Low Energy), Quad band-GSM support, HSPA+ up to 42 MBit/s (megabit per second), LTE up to 100 MBit/s and A-GPS support.
As with the already available Nokia Lumia 620, the Lumia 625 also comes with a semi-transparent plastic case, which will be available in five different colours. The covers can be replaced by the user as desired.
The battery of the Nokia Lumia 625 is sized quite well with a capacity of 2000mAh and should provide a maximum talk time via GSM of 23.9 hours as well as 15.2 hours in 3G mode can be achieved, while the battery of the Lumia 625 the device up to 23 days of standby time, according to the Finnish producer Nokia. With a thickness of 9.15 millimetres, the Lumia 625 is quite thin, but brings quite a lot of weight with 159 grams on the scale.
