Today, the governments of the EU states have agreed to finally put the so-called military wing of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah on the known terror list of the EU (European Union) after the recent debates about this step.

Thus, the so-called military wing of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah is soon to find on the terror list of the European Union (EU), beside such a name like Al Qaeda. The EU lists Hezbollah’s so-called military wing as terrorists and this step by the EU states makes some people speechless in the Arab world.

According to the recent statements by several Foreign Ministers of the member states of the European Union (EU) about the blacklisting of the so-called military wing of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, such as the Dutch Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans, this step to put the “military wing of Hezbollah” on the EU terror list was an important step by the European Union to deal with this military wing.

In addition, it is clear that the name of the so-called military wing of Hezbollah on the EU terror list will trigger the freezing of the asses, raise the difficulty for the fundraising for Hezbollah and will finally limit the capacity of the Lebanese resistance movement to act or react to threats within the Arab nation or from the region.

The reports about this new agreement and decision by the Foreign Ministers of the European Union (EU) in regards of the so-called military wing of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah say that the reason for this decision to put the “military wing of Hezbollah” on the EU terror list was the suicide bombing of a bus in Bulgaria in July 2012 that was allegedly carried out by the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.

The suicide bombing in Bulgaria targeted tourists from Israel and caused the death of seven people – the suicide bomber, the bus driver, and five Israeli tourists, while thirteen people were wounded due to the blast.

The Lebanese resistance movement has several times denied any involvement or responsibility for the suicide bombing of this bus in Bulgaria in 2012, while investigators from Bulgaria stated that they are sure that Hezbollah was involved in this suicide attack against the Israeli tourists.

The main forces behind the decision to put the so-called military wing of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah on the terror list of the European Union (EU) were the governments of Britain, Netherlands and France, while other Foreign Ministers from the member states of the EU have previously feared that such a decision would destabilize Lebanon.

This questionable decision will increase the difficulty of the European Union to debate and negotiate with the government in Lebanon due to the situation that Hezbollah is still a part of the Lebanese government.

EU kissing Washington butt – – again. The US is a failed State, EU appears to be failing, so it would be better for EU to worry about its own situation, and forget about Syria. Dump the US, too, while you’re at it, and get a couple of dozen mill stones off the collective necks of the EU.

A couple more thoughts: if Hezbollah is a party integral to Lebanese government, then the EU is declaring what? That the Lebanon is a what? terrorist controlled State? Correct me if I’m wrong, but does Lebanon not have a parliamentary government, the members elected by the Lebanese people? So, if armed Hezbollah is the de facto defense force for Lebanon how does it magically become a terrorist organization? How is NATO not, also, a terrorist organization, in that it prosecutes offensive operations outside its own borders? I hope that Hezbollah has outgrown attacking Israel just because it’s there – – unlike NATO which will go anywhere, attack any country, kill everyone it is able to for no valid reason whatever. Since Hezbollah functions, de facto, as the army for Lebanon, perhaps re-designating the ‘armed wing’ as the Lebanon Defense Force would throw the EU into such a tizzy that it will begin its own internecine warfare, thus not having time, troops nor money with which to pick on stable secular governments somewhere else. Hmmmm. Not a bad idea, actually; it’s entirely possible that the re-designation of Hezbollah could split the EU, and thus NATO; at the same time, both Lebanon and Syria could designate NATO as a international terrorist organization – – you know, there are any number of diplomatic and political possibilities here. Something to think about, huh?

Arklight, I agree with you, this move by the EU is purely aesthetics, one can not separate the military wing from the party of Hisbollah, at the end this is just media propaganda before the discussions among Israel and Palestine re starts…BS indeed.
I really hope the Government of Lebanon reacts strongly against it, that would be a good sign that the Lebanese people do not fall into this stupid propaganda trap.
