Iranian lawmaker praises the intention by Syrian government.

The Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Qadri Jamil has announced in statements that the government of Syria may propose a ceasefire in the case that the long-planned international peace conference on Syria will take place in Geneva (Geneva II) and if all sides will support a ceasefire between all the involved sides in Syria. The next international peace conference in Geneva is expected to happen in the end of October or November.

However, Russia and the United States have still to discuss about some differences and about the question of which sides “will be allowed” to participate in the Geneva-2 conference on the Syrian conflict.

The statement about a possible proposal of a ceasefire by the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad was a surprise. However, while some pro-Syrian sites reported that Syria’s Deputy Prime Minister Qadril Jamil never made such an announcement about a possible ceasefire in Syria, the truth is that he has announced the possible proposal of a ceasefire by the Syrian government at the upcoming long-delayed Geneva-2 conference on the crisis in the Arab country.

Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Qadri Jamil said on Thursday that the government of Syria may propose a ceasefire at the upcoming international peace conference on the conflict in Syria because no side has the power to win the war in Syria and therefore, the Syrian conflict has reached a stalemate, which is a terrible situation for the Syrian people and the economy of the Arab country. Qadril Jamil said that no side is able to completely defeat the other side in the Syrian conflict and that a ceasefire could help to resolve the long ongoing clashes and violence in the country.

As said, the reports by several websites that Qadril Jamil has never made these statements and that it is just another Western media propaganda is false. According to the information, the Syrian Deputy Prime Minister has made this announcement of a possible proposal for a ceasefire by the Syrian government at the upcoming Geneva-II conference on the Syrian conflict – under some preconditions, of course.

The Vice-Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s Majlis, Mansour Haqiqatpour, commented the statements by Syria’s Deputy Prime Minister about the possibility of a proposal for a ceasefire in Syria and hailed this idea of a ceasefire. The Iranian legislator, Mansour Haqiqatpour, said that this again proves the willingness of the government in Damascus to resolve the crisis and conflict in Syria by diplomatic and political means.

The Iranian lawmaker added that the proposal of a ceasefire to resolve the conflict in Syria is not acceptable and good, but it also indicates that the government of President Bashar al-Assad is “willing to defuse tension in Syria through logical and diplomatic channels.”

The Vice-Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s Majlis further stated in his new statements about this proposal of a possible ceasefire in Syria that the Syrian people “should be allowed to peacefully determine the destiny of Syria” in the upcoming presidential election in 2014, while the Iranian lawmaker means that the foreign powers should allow the Syrian people to determine their future themselves and to stop the meddling into internal affairs of the Arab country.

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has meanwhile said that Moscow will continue discussing ways of resolving the conflict and crisis in Syria on the basis of what was agreed upon previously by the United States and Russia. Sergey Lavrov made this statement during the side-lines of the meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York after he has met with the UN envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi and the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

Also the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow has published a new official statement regarding Syria and the conflicts and problems in the Middle Eastern region. The official statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry says that a settlement of the crisis situations in the Middle Eastern region within the framework of the rules of international law and with the respect of the sovereignty and the territorial safety of the countries in the Middle East is needed.

The Foreign Ministry in Moscow also called for the launch of internal political dialogues to resolve the crisis situations in the Middle Eastern region. The statement also includes the information that this “fully applies to our line about the crisis in Syria.”

You are right, Arklight… Those thugs are willing to die for their “noble” cause of spreading death, destruction and islamic extremism – so it be. Go, get martyred, all of you. No tears will ever flow for your deaths across the globe. Not in Syria, Egypt or any other place.
A ceasefire will only block their way to heaven to meet the 70 virgins, right? (I forgot how many exactly – who cares). So please, you sons of lunatic illusions, leave the world behind for your dream!
