Hezbollah: Added to EU Terror List for Supporting the Syrian Army

Eugene Dabbous, professor at Notre Dame University in Beirut, believes that the European Union (EU) has blacklisted the so-called “military wing” of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah due to the support of Hezbollah fighters for the Syrian Arab army (SAA) and thus, for the Syrian government under President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus.

According to the political analyst, professor Eugene Dabbous, the decision by the member states of the European Union (EU) to put the so-called “military wing” of Hezbollah on their list of “terrorist groups” was not only hypocritically, but also very detrimental to the concept of rule of law in terms of the transparency in the European Union (EU) and the political analyst from Beirut could be correct with this statement.

On the one hand, nobody is really able to divide the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah into a political wing and a “military wing” because there`s no real difference. On the other hand, It`s called resistance movement for specific reasons and this also implies that even the Hezbollah members, who are also part of the Lebanese government, would immediately to be found within the “military wing” of the movement when support for the resistance is needed. There are no doubts about this. Hezbollah is no terrorist group, even if some Western powers would like their citizens to believe this and to buy everything what´s written in their newspapers.

Eugene Dabbous, professor at Notre Dame University in Beirut, spoke with Press TV today and explained that the main reason behind the hypocritically decision of the European Union (EU) was and is the support for the Syrian Arab army (SAA) by the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.

The Syrian army has managed it to inflict heavy losses on the terrorist groups in Syria over the last weeks and so far, it does not look that this might change again. Not to mention that the armed infighting between the foreign-backed “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) and the finally more powerful Syrian Al-Qaeda offshoot (Jabhat al-Nusra / al-Nusra Front and affiliated jihadist groups) is probably even a benefit for the Syrian army.

For example, Hezbollah fighters helped the units of the Syrian Arab army (SAA) in their fights against the terrorist groups in the strategic Syrian town of al Qusayr around the end of Mai and the beginning of June. The Syrian army was able to recapture al Qusayr on June 5 – with the help of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.

In addition, several villages, where relatives or complete families of Hezbollah members are living, are not far away from al Qusayr and thus, the Hezbollah fighters did in principle nothing more than protect their families from the armed terrorist and jihadists groups in the region. Nobody wants armed jihadists or the criminals of the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) near his wife or children.

Hezbollah members have been fighting alongside Syrian troops against foreign-backed Takfiri militants in Syria, defeating the extremist terrorist groups in different areas, including in the strategic town of Qusayr which was recaptured by the Syrian army on June 5.

According to the professor from the Lebanese Notre Dame University in the capital Beirut, the decision to blacklist Hezbollah has “very little to do” with the longstanding accusations against the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, which includes the alleged “main reason for this decision for the EU” – the bomb attack in Bulgaria last year.

While some Bulgarian officials stated that Hezbollah was involved in the bomb attack in their country because some Israeli tourists died due to this bomb attack in a bus, the officials of Hezbollah have always, up to now, strictly rejected these allegations. The stated “final reason” by the EU member states to put Hezbollah on the EU terror list was nothing more than a useful pretext.

The bomb attack in Bulgaria happened in the so-called Black Sea resort of Burgas in July 2012 and caused the dead of seven people, including the bus driver and five tourists from Israel. The Israeli regime has immediately stated in public that Hezbollah was responsible for this bomb attack in the bus in Bulgaria last year.

The Lebanese resistance movement, as stated, still denies these claims by the Israeli regime. That Bulgarian officials have made the same allegations like the Israeli regime against Hezbollah should not surprise many.

Afterwards, the US administration in Washington and the Israeli regime in Tel Aviv started their attempts to convince the member states of the European Union (EU) to put Hezbollah on their terrorist list and to recognize Hezbollah as a terrorist organization just like Al Qaeda.

The professor from the Lebanese Notre Dame University in the capital Beirut, Eugene Dabbous, said the following in his interview with Press TV:

“Obviously, it’s the situation in Syria and the fact that Hezbollah is aiding the government in pushing back the rebels. This is a military operation; it’s in no way a terrorist operation. So they’re very hypocritical and actually I think this is very detrimental to the concept of rule of law on transparency in the European Union.” (source)

It doent really matter how the EU labels Hezbollah! Hezbollah has no business with the EU and more, they are the best fighters in the middle-eastThe Europeans are only good at labelling and with their double-standards. Nothing can change that! That is a genetic defect they have. For their survival, fighting for what they never have on their continent, they sell democracy at the point of guns, and now they discovered one more powerful tool apart from democracy; which is using rebels to invade other countries thus saving on personel and on ther hand, when it pleases them, they use the “right to protect” to intervene.
My advice is every country should have its own atomic bomb and there will be peace in the whole world!
