Citizens Martyred and Injured in Mortar Shells in Damascus and Hasaka

DAMASCUS/HASAKA, (SANA)- Terrorists on Sunday fired mortar shells on the areas of al-Qaboun and Barzeh in Damascus, killing two citizens and wounding others.

An official source told SANA reporter that three mortar shells fell in the surrounding of the United Industrial Commercial Company in al-Qaboun, causing the martyrdom of a citizen and injuring 6 others. The source added that 8 people were wounded in mortar shells which fell on houses on the outskirts of al-Qaboun area. The source told SANA reporter that another mortar shell hit a shop in Barzeh, killing the owner and causing huge material damage to the shop.

Meanwhile, a number of residents of Um al-Kheir village in the countryside of Hasaka were martyred and injured by mortar shells fired by terrorists.

SANA reporter quoted a number of residents in Tal Temer area, where the village is located, as saying that the shells caused the destruction of 7 houses and the martyrdom and injury of 25 inhabitants. They said the terrorist attack came in revenge against the residents of Um al-Kheir village who last week repelled a number of terrorists who tried to loot the wheat silos near their village.
